Beautiful stuff. I just finished reading Winston Churchill's 3-volume, "History of the English Speaking People". Great literature as well as history. It made this tapestry come alive for me.
William the Conqueror took over all the land in England and parceled it out amongst his favorites. The inheritance of land, the Domesday book, all worked together over time, and through local courts, to create English Common Law, which was exported to the United States. It is the basis of most of American law. Amazing change in the future history of the world, for at least the almost 1,000 years so far.
